2K and the development team at Firaxis Games are excited to announce the release of XCOM: Enemy Unknown for PlayStation 3 on PlayStation Network in North America and Brazil on Tuesday, April 9th! We hope the PlayStation community is ready to save Earth in a way they may have never experienced before.
As a lifelong PlayStation gamer, and a huge fan of PlayStation-bred squad-based tactical games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea, and Vandal Hearts, Im proud to have something fresh and so easily accessible within Sonys amazing game catalog. If you missed XCOM: Enemy Unknowns launch in October, this is a heck of an opportunity to see what the fuss has been about.
Action-platformer Guacamelee! is up on the Store for both PSN and PS Vita, and best of all, it’s Cross-Buy. Critically acclaimed XCOM: Enemy Unknown also hits this week, so if you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s your chance.

Designer Jake Solomon says he would not be able to sleep at night if portable version of RTS allowed gamers to pay extra for powerups.
Purchasable stat-boosting items are common in many mobile games today, but the upcoming iOS version of will not offer any such microtransactions.
"Oh God, please#133; no. I'm not sure I would be able to sleep at night," Firaxis Games designer Jake Solomon told . "My food would taste like ashes in my mouth."
XCOM: Enemy Unknown for iOS is a port of the full console and PC version optimized for mobile devices. The game features touch controls, allowing players to rotate the camera using two fingers or tap on a location to queue up a movement order.
Pricing for XCOM: Enemy Unknown on iOS--due this summer--has not been divulged, though Solomon explained to GameSpot this week that the will be "priced appropriately" for a premium game.
He would not comment on the possibility of an Android version, saying that Firaxis is focusing only on the iOS version at this time. XCOM: Enemy Unknown for iOS was .

Last weekend, 2K Games made the surprise announcement that it plans to bring the award-winning XCOM: Enemy Unknown to iOS devices. Even better, it's currently under development at Firaxis Games, the same studio that worked on the console and PC versions from 2012.
In case you missed this title, the game puts you in control of a squad charged with repelling an alien invasion. To succeed, you must carefully monitor/utilize each unit while also gathering resources.
